We have a retired Winemaker offering his stainless steel ratchet basket press, 80 pound capacity, 12 inch diameter and 16 inches high for sale. It will accommodate two boxes or bushels of grapes (60-80 pounds). The steel pan has been painted with food grade epoxy coating. He has used wood under the basket so the pan is still in excellent condition. All blocking is included. He is offering to deliver prepaid ($675) to within a 75 mile radius of Penn Yan, NY. This is in mint, prime condition. I was not able to find the likes of this press online. Contact Robert Scharf, 953 East Lake Rd, Dundee, NY 14837 (just south of Penn Yan off of Rt 54). 315-536-6645, rmscharf@roadrunner.com pH meters: our new testing item has been a great addition. We worked with a customer over the summer with wine problems that turned out to be a high pH. This is a great risk with the use of acid reduction agents for high acid wines. This meter is very affordable at $79.99.
We have added just a few wine concentrate kits
to the ONLINE store only. See kits or concentrates in the menu to the
right. We do not have them on premise at Fall Bright due to space
restraints. They are also heavy for us (girls) to handle to box up
to ship, so they will be shipped directly from our suppliers. They charge
extra to do this, but it is covered in the price.
We HAD a red mystery blend for $8.00 per gallon, see Greg's story. It is sort of an explanation of what happened..... Buyers of this mystery blend, let us know what you think it is! NO ONE GUESSED CLOSE. This item is gone, gone, never again, a pumping accident of equal parts of Concord and Merlot. I cried for 2 days (2006). Tom added some Colobel for color. He made a jug, but it has been like an orphan in the corner and has not had a lot of love or attention. The doors were left open (another accident) and the jug broke. End of that story. We never did have a hoop-a event to unveil the Masquerade! Pinot Noir was a full crop this (2007) year! Extra Merlot was available, too. Tom pressed it on top of a red hybrid, so it is not a light Merlot like last year. You could blend it with Chardonnay juice still available to make your own Eye of the Pa'tridge. Tom has decided to sell his life time stash of empty wine bottles. We are in the process of bringing them up to the shop from our basement (we need room to walk) and they will go for $5.00 a case. We have about 30 cases up here already. Most of the labels have been removed. Cases have been sorted to the best of our ability. I will NOT ship. Call the shop 607-292-3995 or stop by! We are open year 'round! Winter hours Tuesday-Friday 10-5, Saturday 10-4 starting Feb 2, weekends by arrangement, shop phone rings into the house, so try your call during off hours. NY 73.0136.17 has a new name "Noiret" pronounced 'nwahr-ay'. We have a supply of NEW 750 ml wine bottles at the shop. There are dead leaf green burgundy, green bordeaux. They are priced at 8.00 to 8.50 while supply last. 2006: We are having our first crop of
Gewurztraminer in three years! Welcome back! Muscat Ottonel and
Riesling are also more recovered from the agricultural disaster of 2 years
ago.
